‘Constant Internet Connection’ Required for Darkspore on PC

It wasn’t that long ago that PC gamers learned that without their permission, EA installs SecuROM when gamers installed Dragon Age II on their computers. Now we learn that if you plan on playing Darkspore, you are required to have a permanent online connection to play.

For those who are online all the time, this won’t be too much of an issue. This was done for the beta version so it shouldn’t really be a surprise that the final version would be the same.

I’m just hoping they don’t pull a double whammy by adding SecuROM to it as well. This way of requiring a constant internet connection as a form of DRM seems a lot less intrusive compared to what they used for Dragon Age II. Oh, and they were kind enough to let everyone know ahead of time via the Online Disclosure Notice.
