In today’s firmware update (v3.60) for the Playstation 3, Playstation Plus members will gain the ability to backup their game saves onto a cloud network.  In addition to allowing members to backup their data to the cloud, today’s update also gives members the ability to access their content from any Playstation 3 connected to the PSN through a Plus account.

Plus users can save up to 150MB of data and have 1,000 files per account.  Game saves with “copy-prohibited data” can also be backed-up and accessed from the network once within a 24 hour period.  The feature will be available for recent Playstation 3 titles and all new releases.  The save data will be available from the Playstation’s XMB at any time.

A few other minor features will also be added during the 3.60 update.
