The world of gaming monitors has become increasingly competitive, with major brands like Samsung, LG, ASUS, and MSI producing high-end QD-OLED displays. However, there’s a gap in the market for more affordable options that cater to the needs of competitive gamers. AOC, a well-established display manufacturer, has stepped up to fill this gap with the introduction of two new gaming monitors: the 25″ and 34″ G4 models. These monitors are designed to provide smooth visuals and fast response times, making them ideal for competitive gamers who want to improve their performance without breaking the bank. The first of the two monitors is the 25″ 25G4SXU, which features a Fast IPS panel. This panel enables the monitor to achieve faster response times, with a GtG (gray-to-gray) response time of just 1ms and a MPRT (motion picture response time) of 0.3ms. The Fast IPS panel also allows for a wider color gamut, providing a more immersive gaming experience. In contrast, the 34″ CU34G4Z model features a Fast VA panel. The 34″ screen size offers a higher resolution of WQHD (3440x1440p), while the 25″ monitor boasts 1080p resolution. The main difference between the two monitors, apart from the screen size, is the display type. The 34″ monitor has a curved ultra-wide screen with a 1500R curvature, resulting in a wider field of view and more immersive gameplay. Despite the higher resolution of the 34″ monitor, it can only achieve a 240Hz refresh rate, while the 25″ monitor can hit 300Hz out of the box. However, the 25″ monitor can be overclocked further to reach 310Hz. The 34″ monitor lacks adaptive sync, but the 25″ monitor offers NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility for a tear-free gameplay experience. Both monitors are suitable for playing esports titles such as CS2, Valorant, and others, and are ideal for competitive gamers on a budget. The 34″ monitor is more suitable for immersive gameplay and will be good for triple-A titles where one would want to explore vast worlds that envelop your field of vision. For connectivity, each monitor comes with USB 3.2 Gen 1 hubs and a total of 6 ports, including DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports. Here’s a comparison of the two monitors:

The 25G4SXU is priced at ยฃ199, while the CU34G4Z is priced at ยฃ369. Both monitors are expected to be available for purchase starting this month. In an interview, Cesar Acosta, Gaming Product Manager at AGON by AOC, stated: “Our newest G4 models reflect our understanding that different gaming genres demand specialized performance. The CU34G4Z delivers exactly what simulation enthusiasts have been asking for, while the 25G4SXU provides competitive players with the frame rate advantage they need โ€” all at price points that make sense for dedicated gamers.”
Both monitors are designed to provide a seamless gaming experience, with fast response times and high refresh rates. They are ideal for competitive gamers who want to improve their performance without breaking the bank. With their affordable prices and competitive features, the AOC G4 monitors are sure to attract gamers who are looking for a great gaming experience without the high price tag.
