Rayman Origins may not have charmed consumers into buying en masse, but Ubisoft’s colorfully cheery platformer was a critical darling. With significantly less big releases hitting store shelves in the months of February and March, Michel Ancel’s limbless hero may see new life. Ubisoft PR Specialist Alex Monney announced via the PlayStation Blog this morning that Rayman Origins will launch for PlayStation Vita on February 14, just in time for the February 15 arrival of the First Edition Bundle in North America. While the game won’t feature simultaneous multiplayer via Ad-Hoc or Infrastructure, “Ghost Mode” time trials will allow players to race through levels attempting to beat each other’s times.

PC players don’t need to feel left out either. A PC version of Origins was also announced today, and will launch on March 29.

Did you play Rayman Origins in 2011? Does it deserve all the praise? Let us know in the comments below.
