The Video Games To Play This Summer

Introduction

If you’re anything like me, the summer is a time to kick back and relax. That might mean lounging around with a beer and a book, but personally I like to unwind by sinking into the couch and playing video games. It’s just so fun to get sucked into another world for an hour or two before it’s time to go cook dinner! In that spirit, here are some of the best video games out there right now. We’ve also included trailers for each game so you can see what they look like in action.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

This summer, you’ll be able to get your battle on with Fire Emblem: Three Houses. This turn-based tactical role-playing game comes out on July 26, 2019 and is set in the fictional land of Fodlan. You can play as a male or female character and choose from three different houses—the Black Eagles, Golden Deer or Blue Lions. The game is set in the same universe as other Fire Emblem series games, so if you’ve played one before or read about them online (like I have), there will be some familiar elements here too!

Astrologaster

Astrologaster is a turn-based RPG that takes place in the 12 houses of the zodiac, each one with its own unique art style and soundtrack. You play as an astrologer who must use his or her knowledge of astrology to defeat enemies and save the world from evil forces. The battle system is unlike any other game you’ve played before—it’s fast-paced and fun, but also strategic.

There are no random encounters here: battles start when you choose them! You can even choose a specific house for your character to fight in at any time, which makes for some fun combinations with allies who have unique skillsets depending on where they’re standing.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a 2D side-scrolling action platformer, developed by Inti Creates and published by 505 Games. It is a spiritual successor to the Castlevania series, which began in 1987 and continues to this day.

The game’s story follows Miriam, an orphan who is afflicted with an alchemical curse that turns her into crystal at nightfall and brings back demons from the underworld. In order to save herself and discover why she has this affliction, she must travel through a demon-infested castle while battling its inhabitants using special weapons called cursed blades—weapons that can be infused with other magical properties depending on what materials you find along your journey.

Super Mario Maker 2

Super Mario Maker 2 is a game where you can create your own Mario levels, or play levels made by other people. You can even play pre-made levels that Nintendo has created.

Mount Your Friends 3D: A Hard Man Is Good To Climb

Mount Your Friends 3D is a multiplayer game for the Nintendo Switch. It’s about climbing a mountain, and you can play it with friends. There are single-player challenges too, but this one is best enjoyed in groups. The more people who join your party, the more fun you’ll have!

The goal of Mount Your Friends 3D is to climb from the bottom of the mountain to its peak as quickly as possible while avoiding obstacles like rocks and trees along the way… or just by jumping over them if they’re not worth stopping for! The higher you go, however, the harder it becomes because there will be fewer places left where your character can stand when moving around on top of each other’s shoulders using only their hands (or legs).

Dr. Mario World

Dr. Mario World is a game for the Nintendo Switch. It’s a puzzle game that was released in 2019 and is a sequel to Dr. Mario, which was released in 1990. It’s also multiplayer, so you can play with friends if you want to!

Dr. Mario World has an average score of 83% on Metacritic, which means it’s pretty good! The game has received mostly positive reviews from critics and players alike!

Ys Origin

If you are looking for a game that is similar to the Ys series, then this is an excellent choice. It features a story that is enjoyable and easy to follow along with. The combat system has been simplified from other games in the series, but it still provides enough challenge that makes it fun to play through. You can also play this game on your own or with a friend!

These video games would make fun summer activities.

Let’s start with the basics: how to play, what you need to play and how long it takes to play.

  • What makes this a fun summer activity is that it’s easy to learn and quick to set up. You just have to have access to an internet connection, but really that could be anywhere with good Wi-Fi.

  • Time commitment: 30 minutes or less

Conclusion

Though there are many things to be excited about this summer, it is clear that these new video game releases have us pumped! Whether you are looking for a single-player experience or an online multiplayer game, these titles all look promising. We hope they will provide hours of enjoyment and joy, as the best games do.
