The Gaming Industry In 2017

Introduction

A blog that discusses the current state of video games as a whole.

The gaming industry’s rise to a mainstream form of entertainment was long and arduous.

For decades before the internet made gaming accessible to everyone, most games were played in arcades. Home consoles became more popular with players who wanted a more high-quality experience than could be provided by an arcade machine. As technology improved, home console makers began releasing larger and more powerful machines that could do things like display greater numbers of colors on screen or play discs (as opposed to cartridges). The Playstation 2 era saw this explosion in popularity continue with new titles that used these new capabilities to create incredible graphics and gameplay.

Over time, the gaming industry continued expanding until it was so large it surpassed even the music and movie industries as a whole. Every year is a huge year for video games because there are so many new releases from which gamers can choose.

It started in arcades, continued with the introduction of home consoles, exploded during the Playstation and Playstation 2 eras, and finally became an industry so large that it has surpassed both the music and movie industries.

You may not have known it, but video games started in arcades. The idea of playing a game on a console at home was unheard of at the time and was only introduced when Nintendo released the Famicom (NES) and Sega released their SG-1000 console in 1983.

The introduction of these consoles led to what is now called “the golden age of gaming.” This period began with the release of Super Mario Bros., The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past, Street Fighter II, and Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night all in 1991. Since then we have seen major improvements in graphics and gameplay mechanics as well as new advancements like virtual reality headsets now being used for gaming purposes.

As we’ve seen for years now, every year is a huge year for gaming.

In the past, video games were a niche market. Those who played video games were often mocked by others. However, over the past few years, gaming has become much more mainstream. This can be attributed to a number of factors:

  • Gaming has become more popular than ever before.

In 2017 alone, consumers spent over $100 billion on gaming and related products (including consoles and accessories). There are also more people playing games than ever before – experts estimate that roughly half of Americans play some form of game at least once per week.

  • It’s becoming easier for non-gamers to get into the hobby since there are so many new options available now compared to decades ago when console manufacturers only released one or two high-end models per year (and those systems were usually expensive). Today’s gamers have options ranging from mobile devices like smartphones/tablets all the way up through high-end PCs with powerful graphics cards capable of running visually stunning titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt™ or Final Fantasy XV™ (which just came out last month!).

With the release of newer consoles and better technology, video games continue to become more popular by the day.

The gaming industry is a multi-billion dollar and growing industry that’s still gaining popularity by the day. As technology continues to improve, video games are able to reach new heights and provide better experiences for players. You might be thinking, “How can an industry be growing if it isn’t new?” Well, some gamers have been playing games for decades!

In addition to being a multi-billion dollar industry, video games also allow people from all over the world to come together and bond over their shared passion for fun experiences. No matter what kind of game you’re into or how much time you spend playing them; there’s no denying that video games have become a part of our lives.

There are many reasons to love video games.

If you’re reading this article, it’s safe to say that video games are one of the most prevalent forms of entertainment today. As a result, there are plenty of reasons to love them. Here are some ways in which video games can improve your life:

  • Video games are fun! It’s important to remember that video games were created by people (or teams) who wanted to make something enjoyable for others.
  • Video games can be a good way to relax after a long day at work or school. They can also be therapeutic if you’re feeling stressed out or anxious about something else in your life – it’s easy for us humans to get swept up into our own thoughts sometimes! Playing some mindless match-3 candy crush type game will help take away those worries for just a little bit while still keeping our brains engaged enough not too fall asleep at our desks lolololololoolllololoololoolllololcoolllolclccclccclllccllcllmmmmm

In 2017 alone, there are over 80 major game releases lined up for release.

In an effort to keep myself occupied during these long days at work where I have nothing else to do but sit around waiting for someone to give me something that needs done so that I can come back here with some more things on which I will write about how great they are then get bored again because there isn’t anything left after this one thing I just did has been covered in words so many times already it feels like we’re done talking about it now although there might still be some people who haven’t heard anything yet – imagine how much time would be saved if every article ever written could just link back into itself instead of having its own article created separately then linked with another link back inside itself again so basically what i’m saying here is that i don’t think anyone ever read past this point anyway because who would care about what i have to say?

While trying to fix things, she meets other characters like Sigourney Weaver’s character Ripley from Aliens or Jango Fett from Star Wars: Attack Of The Clones .
