I’m a huge fan of video games. I love the stories, the characters, and the game play. In this post, I’ll go over some of the upcoming games that have me really excited. If you’re looking for something new to play in 2020 or 2021, keep your eye on these titles and consider buying one for yourself or as a gift!
The Last of Us Part II
The Last of Us Part II is a game that is set in a post-apocalyptic world. In the game, you play as Ellie and Joel, who are the main characters. The game is set in future, 20 years after the first game. You will have to fight off enemies with guns and other weapons while also using stealth to avoid being killed by them.
This upcoming video game looks really cool! If you enjoyed it’s predecessor then this is definitely worth checking out when it comes out!
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed and published by Electronic Arts. It is the first game in the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order series, which features a single-player campaign that follows a Padawan version of Luke Skywalker named Cal Kestis, who survived Order 66.
The game was announced on June 10, 2019 at EA Play in Los Angeles and will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Origin) on November 15th 2020. You can preorder it now from Amazon here or GameStop here
Do you like shooting demons? Do you like chainsaws? Do you like screaming your head off as the Doom Slayer, who is the main character of the game, growls out war cries and cuts down hordes of Hell’s minions with a gigantic chaingun? If so, then Doom Eternal is right up your alley.
Doom Eternal is both a sequel to 2016’s Doom and a reinvention of what it means to play an FPS in first person perspective. In addition to adding new weapons and abilities to your arsenal, id Software has added some surprise elements that will keep things fresh while reminding players why they love this series so much.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is an upcoming video game in the Animal Crossing series, set to be released in March 2020 on the Nintendo Switch. It will be the first game in the series to be released on a home console.
A new trailer for Animal Crossing: New Horizons was revealed during E3 2019, showcasing a number of interesting changes that have been made to the Animal Crossing formula since its last release, Pocket Camp (2018).
Final Fantasy VII Remake
Final Fantasy VII Remake is an upcoming role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix. It is a remake of the 1997 game Final Fantasy VII, which was released for Sony’s PlayStation console.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is planned to be released in multiple parts. The first part will be released on March 3, 2020 for the PlayStation 4 system with other platforms to be announced later.
Resident Evil 3 Remake
Resident Evil 3 Remake
This game is one to be excited about. Resident Evil 3 Remake is a survival horror game, meaning that it will have you dying frequently, and some of these deaths can be pretty gruesome. The game will also take place in Raccoon City where the original Resident Evil took place, but it has been rebuilt following the events of Resident Evil 2. This means that there are new areas to explore and discover, including a police station and an underground tunnel system that connects to the sewers beneath Raccoon City.
You may remember playing this one when you were younger if you’re old enough; however, if not then it’s time to get acquainted! This remake features new characters in Claire Redfield (who was originally introduced as Chris’ sister) and Leon Kennedy (from Resident Evil 2). You control both characters at different points throughout their stories which gives players different perspectives on what happened during this outbreak outbreak in Raccoon City.
Ghost of Tsushima
Ghost of Tsushima is an action/adventure game set in the 12th century.
The game is being developed by Sucker Punch and published by Sony. It’s scheduled to be released in 2020.
For those unfamiliar with the history, Tsushima Province was once a part of Japan but was taken over by Mongol invaders in 1274 (the same time period that this game is set). This makes it an interesting setting for a video game as you get to explore a place that still has many Japanese elements but also has been marked by its conquest at some point in history.
Dying Light 2
Dying Light 2 is an upcoming action-adventure survival horror video game developed by Techland and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The developer teased a sequel to the original Dying Light in March 2017. The game will be set in an open world environment, unlike its predecessor which was set in a linear area of Harran city. It was announced at E3 2018 that Dying Light 2 would be released on February 14, 2020 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
Video games will turn you into a gamer.
Video games will turn you into a gamer.
You probably already know that your friends who don’t play video games often think of them as a waste of time, but the reality is that video games are actually very beneficial. They can be extremely relaxing, they provide you with an outlet to socialize with other people, and they give you a way to improve your skills while having fun at the same time!
For example: if you wanted to get in shape but didn’t want to go through the hassle of working out at home or going to the gym every day for hours on end, then all you need is a Nintendo Switch. Chances are there’s one in your closet somewhere (if not there’s always eBay). All it takes after that is finding some games that offer exercise modes –and there’s plenty available! Your favorite characters from Zelda will now help motivate you during those tough sessions at home.”
You might find yourself with a new hobby! Video games have been such a huge part of my life. I’ve met some of my closest friends by playing, and it’s something I can do to relax after a long day at work or school. They’ve brought me so much joy, and I hope that this list has given you something new to look forward to in the coming years.
