Introduction
The gaming industry is booming and the number of gamers worldwide is expected to increase from 1.8 billion in 2015 to 2.3 billion by 2020, according to Newzoo’s Global Games Market Report.
This year promises to bring a variety of new games for all types of consoles, including some highly anticipated sequels for popular video games like “Mass Effect” and “Kingdom Come.” The following are some of the most anticipated video games that are set to release in 2017:
Mass Effect Andromeda
Mass Effect Andromeda is the fourth game in the Mass Effect series, but it’s also a fresh start. Set in space and after the events of Mass Effect 3, Andromeda promises to introduce new characters, a new galaxy, and a whole lot of fun. The game will feature Ryder as its protagonist (your character), who’s tasked with finding humanity a new home. You’ll get to choose whether you’re playing as male or female Ryder and can customize their look too!
The story revolves around your team—which consists of Liam Kosta (a security officer), Cora Harper (an engineer), Peebee (a resistance fighter), Vetra Nyx (an explorer) Jaal Ama Darav—who are all members of your Pathfinder team on board the Tempest spaceship.
PUBG
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a battle royale game where you fight against other players until only one player remains. It’s a survival game, so you need to scavenge for supplies and weapons while trying to stay alive. The game is played in first-person mode and can be played solo or as part of a team.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
PUBG is a multiplayer battle royale game. A battle royale game is a type of video game where a large number of players are put into a battle arena to fight until only one player or team remains. The genre was popularized by the Japanese film Battle Royale, but it wasn’t until Brendan Greene, better known as PlayerUnknown, created his own version called Battlegrounds (PUBG) that it became popular on PC gaming platforms such as Steam and later Xbox One.
The concept behind PUBG is simple: 100 players parachute onto an island with nothing but their wits and whatever weapons they can find in order to be the last person standing at the end of four minutes plus one second. There are no health packs or equipment outside of what you find scattered across each map—so scavenging for ammo becomes key when engaging enemy players—and if you die during gameplay your character drops all items in hand’s reach before spawning back into play somewhere else on the map under different circumstances, such as being stuck within an abandoned vehicle or hiding among tall grasses waiting for another opponent to walk by so you can kill them without alerting anyone else nearby about your presence nearby! This makes every match unique because there aren’t any loading screens between deaths like many traditional MMOs have in order reduce lag issues throughout matches.”
‘GTA V’
GTA V is a third-person shooter video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013.
The game is played from either a first-person or third-person perspective while interacting with non-player characters (NPC), generally civilians and traffic members whom the player cannot directly control. Players complete missions—linear scenarios with set objectives—to progress through the story. Outside of missions, players may freely roam the open world. The Grand Theft Auto series is known for its open world structure that allows players to interact with the gameworld at their leisure; activities such as attacking police helicopters, committing crimes like arson and theft or purchasing real estate are available in the game’s virtual city setting of Los Santos (based on Los Angeles). The world’s geography is designed to encourage exploration: players can use various vehicles including cars; boats; motorcycles; aircrafts (such as fixed wing aircrafts) to travel between areas of interest within an integral transportation network that connects each region together called “Los Santos Transit”.
In addition to single player mode which revolves around three protagonists who work together to perform heists across Los Santos, GTA V has support for two additional modes: cooperative multiplayer where up to four players can play together over internet connection using any combination of controllers supported by their platform (iPad only supports touchscreen controls)
Kingdom Come Deliverance
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an open world action role-playing game developed by Warhorse Studios and published by Deep Silver. In Kingdom Come, you are Henry, the son of a blacksmith. The game is played from a third-person perspective in an open world environment with nonlinear gameplay allowing players to roam around on foot or on horseback. The player can choose how they want to play; if it’s role playing they want then they can interact with NPCs while completing quests or even romance them if they’re feeling lucky! If combat seems more up their alley then they’ll be able to use one of sixteen different types of medieval weaponry including maces, swords, halberds (polearms) etcetera!
