Do you ever feel like life is just too much sometimes? Like all the demands on your time and energy seem impossible to meet. Yeah, I feel that way too and it can be really frustrating when you are feeling bored, anxious or stressed out. A lot of times these feelings are caused by a combination of many little things that become overwhelming over time. So what do you do about it? Well, one thing that has always helped me when I’m feeling stressed out is to hang out with friends and play board games together. Because board games give you an outlet for friendship, creativity, competition and most importantly FUN!
The games listed in this blog were chosen because they require fewer than five people to play while also providing interactive elements to make sure everyone engages with each other.

You don’t have to be the star at Catan to win. In fact, it might not even matter who wins! The goal of the game is for players to expand their settlements and increase their wealth. The first person to achieve 10 victory points wins.
Players take turns rolling dice and moving their pieces around the board based on how many roads they’ve built and how many settlements they own within each area. If a player rolls a 7 or 8, he can build cities in any area where he has one or more roads connected to his existing settlements (or cities). He pays $2 per city wall piece and can score 1 victory point per city wall built during that turn; these points are added together at the end of each turn before play continues with the next player’s turn.

In this game, you get to see how creative your friends really are. Each player is given a category and they have 60 seconds to create as many words as they can that fall into that category. The twist? You only get three letters per word! It’s frantic word play fun!
The rules are pretty simple:
- The first player is chosen at random and given 60 seconds on the timer to think of as many words as possible for each of their categories. They can use any combination of letters from A-Z in any order but only one letter may be used multiple times (like “a” or “i”). The other players must also come up with answers within those parameters but must not talk until it’s their turn!
- Once everyone has gone around the table once, tally up everyone’s score by adding up all their points (5 points for every correct answer). You then divide by 2 since there were two rounds played; therefore, your final score will end up being half of what it was at its peak during the first round.
