Your First Video Game

Introduction

So you want to get into video games, but you have no idea where to start? Well, first of all: welcome! The gaming world is vast and varied, but if you’re reading this blog then I’m going to assume that you don’t have a lot of experience with video games. Maybe it was hard for you to find the right one growing up because there wasn’t much variety. Or maybe it’s because most modern video games are more complicated than they used to be. Either way, it’s never too late to get started! Just remember that choosing which game(s) will be your first foray into this new world doesn’t need as much forethought as buying a car or house. There are tons of options out there, so take some time and figure out what sounds fun for YOU.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

This is an action-adventure game with many puzzle elements. It features an open world environment that is the largest in The Legend of Zelda series to date. You play as Link, who awakens from a 100-year slumber on an island called the Great Plateau by a female voice named Calamity Ganon (a reference to Ganondorf). It’s your job to save Hyrule from its threat while also recovering memories long forgotten by Link and others.

Super Mario Odyssey

One of the first games you may want to play once you start getting into gaming is Super Mario Odyssey. This game is a 3D platformer, meaning it takes place in three dimensions with a player controller (Mario) jumping around from place to place. Super Mario Odyssey has been praised for its unique gameplay features such as being able to take control of other characters through your hat, which is called Cappy. While running through levels and trying not to get killed by enemies or traps can be fun by itself, one thing that really makes this game stand out among others is its use of Cappy. By capturing certain objects or enemies in his new hat buddy’s grip, Mario can perform actions that would otherwise not be possible without them (such as turning Goombas into bombs). And while collecting power ups has always been an important part of any good platformer before now many have lacked any sort of puzzle solving elements; but not here! With the help of Cappy’s abilities we can craft our own solutions instead just relying on trial-and-error like most other games do; so if you’re looking for something more challenging than just jumping around then check out Super Mario Odyssey today!

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is a PlayStation 4 exclusive. It is the final game in the Uncharted series, and it is considered to be one of the best games for PS4.

It was developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, LLC. It has a rating of 9.4 on GameSpot, making it one of only three games with that rating or higher on GameSpot (the other two being The Last of Us Remastered and Journey).

God of War (2018)

God of War (2018)

If you want to get into gaming, and you don’t want to go with a classic game like Super Mario Bros., then try God of War! While it’s not an old game, it has been out for more than a decade, so you can get it in stores. It’s also not as heavy on graphics as newer games, so if your computer is a bit older or slower than what’s recommended by the system requirements on the back cover of the case (as they always are), then this game should run smoothly on your PC.

God of War is a third-person action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It serves as a soft reboot for the series following the 2008 release of God of War III; its story occurs sometime after Kratos kills Zeus and ends up on Mount Olympus where he must defeat all gods before ascending himself.[2] The player controls Kratos from a third-person perspective as he travels across various locations based loosely on Greek mythology filled with monsters and other creatures created specifically for this title.[3] The gameplay contains elements from hack & slash games while featuring some role-playing elements such as leveling up which enables character customization via ability points gained through experience orbs collected by defeating enemies.[4][5][6] A variety of magical abilities[7] such as attacks that unleash fireballs,[5] freezing enemies,[8] summoning meteors,[9][10], using telekinesis[11], etc., can be obtained throughout play.[12][13][14] Combat often requires switching between different types swordplay using light attacks/heavy attacks buttons with combinations thereof against large groups opponents at once within quick time events during preselected moments where failure results in fail state death sequence before having another chance at getting things right again.[15][16]

Grand Theft Auto V

If you’re a newbie to video games, the last thing you want to do is get bogged down in the technical aspects of gaming. You want something fun and easy to play that will keep you interested until you’ve gotten the hang of things. Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) is just that game! It’s got everything from shooting people with guns, driving cars around an open world environment, going on missions for various characters in the game…the list goes on and on! The best part about GTA V is that it has so much replayability due to its many different ways to play through a mission or complete tasks within each mission itself.

For example: If a mission requires driving from point A to point B (which happens often), there are many ways this could happen depending on what vehicles are available for use within this particular mission. You might drive a sports car like I did or even opt for something more unconventional like riding atop an armored tank while firing rockets at anyone who comes near me as I make my way towards my destination – either way still accomplishes our goal of getting us where we need/want go!

Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 11 is a fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is the eleventh main installment in the Mortal Kombat series and was released worldwide on April 23, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows via Steam. The Nintendo Switch version will be released later this year as well as a mobile version on iOS and Android devices.

In this game you can choose from any of 25 fighters including three new characters: Ravi Briggs (a cyber-genetically enhanced soldier), D’vorah (a bloodthirsty insectoid harvester) and Geras (an undead warrior). You can also unlock classic fighters such as Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Sonya Blade and Scorpion among others!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an action role-playing game developed by CD Projekt RED and published by CD Projekt. The game is the third in the series, preceded by The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. It was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on 19 May 2015.

The story starts off with Geralt (the main character) being called to help find Ciri who has been missing for a while now. Her parents are worried because they think she got herself into trouble during her journey through the world of monsters and humans alike. You will come across many people on your way to finding Ciri but you’ll also discover some secrets about yourself as well!

Monster Hunter World

Monster Hunter World (MHW) is a game that you can play with friends, or by yourself. It’s easy to pick up and difficult to master, so it’s perfect for new gamers. There are many different ways to play the game, but one of my favorite ways is hunting monsters with friends in a group of four or more people. MHW has been out on consoles since January 26th 2018, and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. If you have yet to try it out then now is the time!

Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 is a first-person shooter developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games. It is the sequel to the 2009 video game Borderlands. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and OS X in September 2012, for Linux in October 2016 and for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in August 2017

The story of Borderlands 2 follows one character from each of the four playable classes who must work together as they fight Handsome Jack (the main antagonist), while navigating their way through Pandora’s moon Elpis. This distant moon orbits around Pandora (the planet) and is also known as its “new frontier”.
