The Top 10 Best Xbox 360 Games of 2011

Introduction

This past year has been an exciting time for Xbox 360 players. The new year brought us a number of fantastic games that are still being played today, and 2011 also had many sequels to already-popular games. It was tough to narrow down our list to just 10, but we’ve managed it! So here are the best Xbox 360 games of 2011:

10: Mass Effect 2

If you are a fan of the Mass Effect series, then you know that this game is a must-have. Mass Effect 2 is the sequel to the first game in the series and continues your adventure as Commander Shepard. You must save humanity from annihilation by an ancient alien race known as The Reapers who are intent on destroying all sentient life forms in our galaxy.

The graphics are top notch as always for an Xbox 360 game and this is one of those games that you can play over again because there are so many different ways it can end depending on how you choose to play it.

9: LA Noire

LA Noire is a detective game that takes place in Los Angeles. You play as a detective in the 1940s, who must solve crimes and interrogate suspects to find the truth. You can also play it in first person mode or third person mode, which is nice because some people don’t like playing games with only one camera angle.

This is an interesting game because it was made by Team Bondi, which closed down after finishing LA Noire. The game was released on November 15th for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 (PS3).

8: Fable III

Fable III is the third installment in an action-RPG series developed by Lionhead Studios. The game takes place hundreds of years after Fable II, with players assuming the role of Logan, a young man who has been chosen by fate to become king of all Albion.

During your adventures as Logan, you’ll encounter a variety of new features including “Hero Mode,” which gives players more direct control over their character’s abilities and lets them access powerful abilities that can be earned throughout gameplay; “Bowerstone Market,” which allows players to buy and sell items they find during gameplay; and much more.

The main story centers around Logan’s quest to unite all five fractured kingdoms under his rule so he can stop a civil war before it starts. You’ll also meet many other characters along your journey such as Theresa (your sister), Maze (your dog), Murgoz (the leader of an evil group called The Ministry) and Moira Brown (a journalist). Some of these characters were introduced in previous games but were not playable until now!

7: Dance Central

Dance Central is a rhythm game that is based on the popular dance franchise. The game is set in an urban setting, and includes a variety of different dance styles. There are also some great unlockable characters to choose from, including Michael Jackson, Katy Perry and James Brown. The story mode consists of a competition called the Dance Central Competition (DCC), where you can win trophies by completing specific dance moves.

Dance Central also has an online mode that allows you to compete against other people all over the world in real time!

6: Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat is a fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is the ninth installment in the Mortal Kombat series, which features characters and settings from the fictional universe of Mortal Kombat.

The game was released on April 19, 2011 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, on August 18 for Microsoft Windows computers and on September 18 for iOS smartphones.

The story mode is called “Konquest”. In this mode you play as Shujinko who travels through many realms to find all seven Kamidogu before they fall into evil hands.

5: Portal 2

Portal 2 was released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in 2011. It is a puzzle game developed by Valve and published by Electronic Arts.

You play as Chell, a test subject who must solve puzzles using portals. The game’s portal gun has two different functions: creating an entry portal on one surface and an exit portal on another surface that are linked together so you can instantly travel between them if you step through the entrance. In the main game mode, you use this feature to solve increasingly difficult puzzles while avoiding turrets that are trying to kill you out of fear of your freedom (or something like that).

4. Gears of War 3

Gears of War 3 is the third game in the Gears of War series. It was released on September 20, 2011 for Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. The game was developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Studios.

In Gears of War 3 you play as Marcus Fenix’s son, JD Fenix. As you progress through the story mode you will meet familiar faces such as Cole Train and Baird who help you fight against a new threat known as “The Lambent”.

Battlefield 3 is a first-person shooter video game developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is the eleventh installment in the Battlefield series and was released on October 25, 2011 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The story takes place in 2020, featuring sandbox gameplay with destructible environments; players can control multiple squads and switch between them at any time during the campaign.

Battlefield 3 uses the Frostbite 2 game engine which allows for destructible environments with an extensive range of destruction mechanics that enable more dynamic destruction than previous iterations of the engine. A new feature called Levolution allows players to alter maps significantly in single-player mode or multiplayer mode.

2. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is a first-person shooter game that was released in 2011. The game is set in the modern day, and it’s a sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It’s also the eighth installment in the Call of Duty series.
