Video games have been around for decades and there are literally thousands to choose from. This blog will focus on just ten of the best video games to play in your free time. These picks were chosen according to how fun they are to play and how often people revisit them over the years. The goal was to create a comprehensive top ten list that would appeal both fans and newcomers alike!

Mario Kart 8

The game was announced at E3 2013 for release on the Wii U console and was released in Japan on April 23, 2014, in Europe on 30 May 2014, in Australia on 31 May 2014, and in North America on 2 June 2014. As with previous Mario Kart games, it is available as both a Nintendo Selects title[10] and a Wii U bundle pack with either red or blue Wii remote Plus controllers.[11]

Mario Kart 8 features two-player split screen racing like in previous titles but with added support for up to 12 players online via the Internet Connection Sharing feature of the Wii U console.[12] Players can also battle each other using their customized vehicles online or via local wireless play.[13] In addition to these new multiplayer modes there are several new single player modes such as 200cc[14], Balloon Battle[15], Coin Runners[16], Shine Thief[17], Animal Crossing Race & Chase[18][19][20], King Boo’s Haunted Hideaway (available after playing every track), Mirror Mode (where all items are replaced by opposites), Double Item Boxes (items appear twice per item box), single item boxes which give only one type of item at random when hit)
