Video games have been around for decades and there are literally thousands to choose from. This blog will focus on just ten of the best video games to play in your free time. These picks were chosen according to how fun they are to play and how often people revisit them over the years. The goal was to create a comprehensive top ten list that would appeal both fans and newcomers alike!

Mario Kart 8

The game was announced at E3 2013 for release on the Wii U console and was released in Japan on April 23, 2014, in Europe on 30 May 2014, in Australia on 31 May 2014, and in North America on 2 June 2014. As with previous Mario Kart games, it is available as both a Nintendo Selects title[10] and a Wii U bundle pack with either red or blue Wii remote Plus controllers.[11]

Mario Kart 8 features two-player split screen racing like in previous titles but with added support for up to 12 players online via the Internet Connection Sharing feature of the Wii U console.[12] Players can also battle each other using their customized vehicles online or via local wireless play.[13] In addition to these new multiplayer modes there are several new single player modes such as 200cc[14], Balloon Battle[15], Coin Runners[16], Shine Thief[17], Animal Crossing Race & Chase[18][19][20], King Boo’s Haunted Hideaway (available after playing every track), Mirror Mode (where all items are replaced by opposites), Double Item Boxes (items appear twice per item box), single item boxes which give only one type of item at random when hit)

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an action-adventure game developed and published by Rockstar Games.

It was released on October 26, 2018 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to 2010’s Red Dead Redemption, set in 1899 America during the waning years of the American frontier. The protagonist is Arthur Morgan, an outlaw trying to survive as part of Van der Linde’s gang in the dying Wild West. The game features open world gameplay similar to that of its predecessor and has several multiplayer modes

Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V is a video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It is the fifteenth title in the Grand Theft Auto series and the first main entry since Grand Theft Auto IV in 2008. Featuring three playable characters, GTA V retained similar mechanics to its predecessors but introduced new features such as cooperative gameplay for up to two additional players, as well as many other activities including wildlife photography, yoga, base jumping and competitive shooting.

The Last of Us

The Last of Us is a PlayStation 3 exclusive about a man and his daughter who travel across America in the wake of an apocalyptic fungus outbreak. It’s set in 2033, with the city of Boston as its main locale. The game follows Joel and Ellie as they attempt to survive in this new world while avoiding other survivors, who are often violent and desperate for food or medicine—or both!

The gameplay mechanics have been praised by many critics as being some of the most realistic ever seen in games; players have to make real-time decisions on how best to interact with their environment, deciding whether it’s safer to attack enemies head-on or sneak past them undetected.

Metal Gear Solid 4

Metal Gear Solid 4 is a stealth action video game developed by Kojima Productions and published by Konami for the PlayStation 3 video game console. The ninth installment in the Metal Gear series, it was directed, written and designed by Hideo Kojima. Journey was a game that is still played by millions of people today. It was released in 2012, and the game has become very popular with the gaming community. Journey is unique in that it’s one of the only games I’ve ever played where you can’t kill anyone or anything else. In other games, you’re always killing something or someone; however, in Journey you are only trying to survive yourself and not harm others along the way. The creator put a lot of thought into this game’s design and storyline making it one of my favorites!

Batman Arkham City

Batman Arkham City is an action-adventure video game developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Based on the DC Comics superhero Batman, it is the sequel to the 2009 video game Batman: Arkham Asylum, which takes place inside the eponymous fictional Arkham Asylum in Gotham City. It was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 18, 2011. The story follows Batman as he investigates what becomes a full-blown riot at Arkham Asylum while trying to stop criminals who have been released from imprisonment during it.

God Of War 2018

God of War is a hack and slash video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is loosely based on Norse mythology and the protagonist, Kratos, is a Greek god.

The game received positive reviews from critics who praised its combat system, graphics, gameplay and story. It won several awards such as Best Action-Adventure Game at The Game Awards 2018; Best Narrative at the Game Developers Choice Awards 2018; Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design from Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences; Best Action-Adventure Game from IGN and Best PlayStation 4 Game (also previously nominated for Best Original Music) from British Academy Games Awards 2019 amongst others


Minecraft is a sandbox game that was released in 2009. It is one of the best-selling video games of all time and has sold over 100 million copies worldwide, putting it into the top five most-sold games ever.

In Minecraft you play as a character who did not know anything about their past and they have to survive while trying to find more about themselves. You create an environment where you can explore, build and craft things like tools, weapons and shelter which help you survive against monsters that are out there looking for prey. You can also play online with friends or other people around the world!

This game has been released on almost every platform including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 (PS3), PS4 (PlayStation 4), Wii U(a Wii exclusive), Nintendo Switch(an upcoming Nintendo console)  and Windows 10 computers so there are many different versions available for purchase or download online if you do not have any consoles yourself yet!

Half-Life 2 is a first-person shooter developed by Valve Corporation, published by Sierra Studios, and released in 2004. The game’s story follows scientist Gordon Freeman and his companion Alyx Vance as they fight against the Combine, an interdimensional empire that threatens to destroy humanity.

Half-Life 2 was one of the most successful games of all time; it won over fifty Game of the Year awards from various media outlets and gaming publications. It was also the only game for three years to achieve a perfect score from Edge Magazine.
