The Switch is an incredible piece of hardware. With its innovative design, the ability to take it with you anywhere and play games like Breath of the Wild wherever you want, there’s no doubt in my mind that it will be one of Nintendo’s most successful consoles ever. And yet… when I heard that Super Mario Land wasn’t going to be available on the Switch, I was instantly disappointed.
While this may seem trivial or even silly at first glance (after all, what difference would it make if Super Mario Land were only playable on a specific console?), this seemingly small decision could have wide-ranging implications for both Nintendo and the gaming industry at large.

Super Mario Land was a great game, and I was excited to see it come back. But if it’s not going to be part of the Switch lineup, then I can live with that. Nintendo has always been good about releasing games on multiple platforms – they’ve got a lot more experience doing that than most other companies do these days!
