Aim Right
The first thing you should do is aim for the highest note. Don’t worry about hitting the bottom notes, but try to hit all of the upper notes. This will make it easier for you to get a good combo score at the end of each song.
Next, try aiming for blue notes rather than red ones (unless there are no blue ones). Blue notes are slightly harder to hit than red ones and they give more points when you do hit them correctly.
Thirdly, try aiming for one of two different kinds of note when playing in solo mode: either aim at one that is furthest away from other notes or one that is closest to other notes (this isn’t as important during cooperative mode). The reason why this matters is because if a guitar hero focuses too much on hitting certain parts of their guitar over others then they won’t be able to move fast enough later on down the road!

- Stay in tune! As we’ve discussed, staying on pitch is the most important thing you can do to improve your playing. It’s also the easiest way to sound like a professional guitarist. When you’re playing guitar Hero well, it’s easy to get distracted by all the other aspects of playing that are fun—but don’t forget about keeping your guitar in tune!
- Use a guitar tuner. There are plenty of apps for tuning your instrument, and many of them even have autotune features that will automatically correct minor mistakes for you (though this can be distracting if overdone). If you’re looking for something more low-tech, try using a pitch pipe or tuning fork instead; these instruments will let you know exactly how far off key each string is from its correct pitch. Once again: practicing often and paying attention when things go wrong will make it easier for you to stay in tune with any kind of instrument—and this includes both electric guitars and air guitars (you know who we’re talking about).

So try focusing on what’s going on in front of you—the screen and all its bright colors and sounds—and see if it helps make things more enjoyable!
- Play with friends or family members who are better than you are at playing guitar hero! This tip may seem counterintuitive: after all, wouldn’t getting beaten over and over again by someone who’s better than me just make me feel bad? It actually won’t! Instead of being demoralized by all those losses (which will happen), just remember that each failure brings us closer together as friends because we’re working toward something together: getting better at our favorite video game!
