The finalists for the 12th annual Game Developers Choice Awards had been revealed by organizers yesterday. The nominations this year are lead by three studios, two major players in the industry and one newcomer. Bethesda Game Studios’ Skyrim, the long-awaited fantasy RPG, and Valve’s sci-fi puzzle title Portal 2 both received 5 nominations. The newcomer company, Supergiant Games, and it’s action RPG title Bastion also received 5 nominations, including one for the company itself in the Best Debut category.

The Game Developers Choice Awards committee will also be announcing its Special Awards recipients in the near future. This includes the honorees for the Pioneer, Ambassador, and Lifetime Achievement Awards as well as the host for the Game Developers Choice Awards.
