Many early 3DS adopters were disappointed to discover a bug in the game-suspension system that resulted in the game crashing and a brief (but vague) error message appearing, directing you to restart your system. The bug doesn’t seem to be linked to any particular game, with users reporting the error with basically every launch title, first-party or otherwise.
The good news is Nintendo has responded with an update that hopefully will resolve the issue. “If anyone is experiencing any problems with their Nintendo 3DS console, we recommend that in the first instance they download and install the latest system update, now available online,” Nintendo said in a statement to Eurogamer.
If the problem persists, even after the update, Nintendo recommends you contact customer service.
This isn’t a terribly good sign, but I guess it’s good to see that Nintendo was quick to roll out a patch for the problem.
