Slant Six, the development team behind SOCOM: Confrontation, is currently working on Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. The title has been confirmed by Capcom through its community blog and will be available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this Winter.
Capcom has set this game in September, 1998, between Resident Evil 2 and 3, and wants give “fans the chance to rewrite the history of the Raccoon City outbreak. Players will experience a retelling of classic moments from past titles Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 and watch the events unfolding from the menacing perspective of the Umbrella Security Service.”
Capcom is promising a variety of online modes through a three way combat system between U.S. Special Ops, the Umbrella Security Service and zombies.
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D for Nintendo’s 3DS, set to hit shelves June 2, will also ship with a playable demo of Resident Evil: Revelations. Revelations will allow players to assume control over Jill Valentine as she explores an ocean liner.
More information will be made available regarding all of these games in the upcoming issues of GamePro, PlayStation: The Official Magazine, and Xbox: The Official Magazine.
